Medicaid/CHIP Data Requirements in New Hampshire

Health care providers participating in Medicaid or Medicaid waiver programs must maintain medical records.1

New Hampshire law addresses the need for its Medicaid program to be cost-effective and delivering high-quality health care. The Department of Health and Human Services must establish a managed care model to administer the Medicaid program, which includes accountable care organizations and medical homes.2 The Department is responsible to monitor the utilization of health care services in Medicaid and Medicaid waiver programs to assess and improve the delivery of health care.3 Nursing homes participating in Medicaid must report any changes of a resident’s status and annually submit financial information to the department.4
