Defines ‘patient grievance’ as formal or informal complaint made to the hospital about abuse, neglect, the hospital’s compliance with licensure laws, or the patient’s care. Clarifies that issues raised with hospital staff that are immediately resolved are not considered grievances. Requires hospitals to notify patients of their grievance procedures, investigate grievances, document their investigation and results, and notify patients of the outcome of their grievance.
