Notifiable conditions

The New Mexico Department of Health must maintain a list of notifiable conditions that must be reported through a 24-hour telephone number, to a disease specific address, a written report, or electronic transmission.  The list of notifiable conditions is available at N.M. Admin. Code

Health care providers who treat an individual that has or is suspected of having a notifiable condition must report the disease.  Laboratories that receive a positive test for a notifiable condition must also report all positive findings, along with the individual’s name, address, date of birth, disease/condition, and physician.  Other people who have knowledge of a person with or suspected to have a notifiable condition must also report the individual.
