Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 1200-08-10-.12 - Rights of patients in ambulatory surgical centers

All patients in ambulatory surgical centers have the following minimum rights:

  1. To refuse treatment and be informed of the consequences of that decision;
  2. To refuse experimental treatment or drugs;
  3. To give written informed consent to participation in research;
  4. To have records kept confidential;
  5. To give written consent to release of records unless release is otherwise permitted or authorized by law;
  6. To be involved in decision making pertaining to one’s own care;
  7. To self-determination, including the right to make choices regarding life-sustaining treatment.
