Information that the department of health obtains from hospitals and other healthcare providers from the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) or from required reporting of hospital acquired infections is not public information. However, the department may prepare reports or studies based on the information that identifies individual healthcare entities; such reports and studies are public information, but the department may not release individual, patient-level data.
