Idaho Admin. Code r. 16.05.07.101, Documentation of Services and Access to Records

Requires Medicaid providers to document services in a manner sufficient to justify the service or claim. Requires providers to retain this documentation for at least five years following the date on which they provided the service. Defines ‘documentation’ as including treatment plans, medical records, and financial records. Requires providers to allow agents of the Department of Health and Welfare or federal Health and Human Services access to these records during normal business hours. Authorizes Department agents to copy provider records or request that a provider supply written copies. Requires providers to supply the written copies within 20 days of the request unless the Department grants them an extension. Permits Department agents to remove records from a provider’s premises.
