Health Information Records
 
Requires nursing facilities to maintain health information records. Specifies the information that must be included in these records (e.g., identifying information, diagnostic procedures, lab tests, etc.). Requires practitioners to sign and authenticate health information record entries. Requires facilities to maintain the records in a manner that ensures their privacy and confidentiality while protecting against physical hazards, loss, or unauthorized access. Directs facilities to maintain records for at least 10 years after the resident’s discharge.
