“Dissemination of health care information under the public health law”

The Agency for Health Care Administration must establish an information system that distributes and receives information and services as a basis for the agency’s public education programs. The agency must publish and disseminate information to the public which will enhance informed decision-making in the selection of health care providers, facilities and services. The publications may identify average charges for services, lengths of stay, readmission rates, mortality rates, recommended guidelines for selection and use of health care providers, health care facilities, and health care services, and other appropriate information. The agency must also annually publish a comprehensive report of state health expenditures.
