“Unfair methods, acts, and practices defined under the insurance law”
A health insurer is guilty of committing unfair methods of competition or unfair and deceptive acts and practices if it:
- Made misrepresentations in the sale of insurance;
- Provides false information in the insurance application;
- Provides false information in advertising;
- Boycotts, coerces and intimidates another health insurer; and
- Unfairly refuses to insure an individual based on age, residence, race, color, religion, national origin, marital status, or occupation.
