Reports -- Confidentiality
Classifies public health reports regarding sexually transmitted diseases as confidential. Permits disclosure of information from these reports pursuant to a court order, search warrant, or during discovery. Permits the disclosure of deidentified information for research purposes. Allows the disclosure of information as necessary to investigate, treat, and control STDs and otherwise comply with Colorado’s STD laws. Permits disclosure to health care providers that need the information to protect the health or life of a specific person. Clarifies that information from medical records regarding the diagnosis and treatment of STDs is not considered part of the public health report and is thus subject to penalties for improper disclosure pursuant to C.R.S. § 18-4-412.
