"Investigation of Tuberculosis Cases"

Arizona requires health care providers, clinical laboratories, or homeless shelter operators to notify the tuberculosis control officer or their local health officer upon discovering that a person has tuberculosis. The report must indicate the person’s name, address, and physical location. Physicians must keep the tuberculosis control officer or local health officer updated on the afflicted person’s condition. Institutions or providers that care for a person with tuberculosis must notify the tuberculosis control officer or local health officer if the person refuses treatment or fails to comply with recommendations regarding isolation, monitoring, or quarantine. These reports must include information regarding the person’s name, address, tuberculin skin test results and any relevant radiologic, pathologic, or microbiologic reports.
