Medical Peer Review in Massachusetts

The state of Massachusetts has provisions that detail actions to be taken against a health care provider who acts inappropriately or whose actions are acts of misconduct.  All licensed hospitals and health care facilities are required to have reporting requirements for such conduct, and have a peer review process for investigation, review and resolutions of such reports.1  In addition, proceedings and reports of a medical peer review committee must remain confidential and are not subject to public disclosure.2
