Vt. Stat. Ann. tit. 26, § 1582 - Regulatory authority; unprofessional conduct regarding nurses under the professions and occupations law

“Regulatory authority; unprofessional conduct under the professions and occupations law”

Registered and licensed practical nurses must comply with the Office of Professional Regulation’s rules on professional conduct. Additionally, registered and licensed practical nurses may be disciplined if the board finds that they engaged in unprofessional conduct including:

  • Failed to maintain medical reports required by law;
  • Is unable to practice nursing competently;
  • Engages in conduct of a character likely to deceive, defraud, or harm the public;
  • Failed to comply with the patient bill of rights; or
  • Committed any sexual misconduct with the patient or the patient’s surrogates or key third parties.
