Tennessee law encourages communication between a patient’s health care providers.  The law does not impose confidentiality requirements on communications between health care providers in treating a patient or on a physician’s communications with a hospital where a patient has been treated.  The law also provides that information obtained from communications between the hospital and physician that modifies a patient’s hospital record should be included as part of the patient’s hospital record.
