Reporting Requirements for Birth Defects and Genetic Diseases – N.Y. Pub. Health Law § 2733

Physicians, hospitals, and persons that attend births must report birth defects and genetic diseases to the Commissioner. Such information is confidential and may not be admitted into evidence during any type of proceeding. The Commissioner may release reports containing analysis of the birth defect and genetic disease information so long as the all identifying information is removed.
