Placement of patient in seclusion or mechanical restraint. Medication not to be used as substitute for habilitation - Conn. Gen. Stat. § 17a-544

Patients may only be involuntarily secluded or in mechanically restrained if they pose an “imminent physical danger” to themselves or others. The physician order for seclusion or restraint and an explanation of the circumstances must be placed in the patient’s clinical record within 24 hours.
