Patients hospitalized in facilities that treat psychological disabilities must undergo a physical examination within 5 days of their admission and at least once every subsequent year. Patients must undergo psychiatric examination within 48 hours of their admission and at least once every subsequent six months. Physicians must place a signed report of the physical or psychiatric examination in the patient’s clinical record.
