Patient's Revocation of Authorization for Disclosure

Permits patients to revoke an authorization for hospitals to disclose their health care information at will unless the disclosure is necessary for the hospital to receive payment for provided services. Bars patients from bringing a claim against a hospital for disclosures that occur after revocation if the hospital had no notice of the revocation and relied in good faith on an existing authorization.
