A health professional regulatory board must maintain the confidentiality of any information received pursuant to an investigation of a licensee (such as a physician) or applicant, including complaints against the individual.  This information cannot be disclosed to the public.  However, the board is authorized to disclose information necessary to conduct a full investigation.  The board is also authorized to disclose certain information to the individual licensee or applicant, provided the information is not privileged and does not identify the complaining party.
