All residents in a nursing facility have the following rights:
- To be fully informed of one’s health and medical status;
- To be fully informed of the right to choose one’s own physician;
- To be fully informed in advance of any changes in care or treatment;
- To refuse services, treatment or medication;
- To have clinical and medical records be kept confidential;
- To promptly inspect all records pertaining to the resident;
- To purchase photocopies of records pertaining to the resident.
