Clients of in-home care agencies have a number of a rights, including the following:

  • To be given the informed choice and opportunity to select or refuse service;
  • To be participate in the planning of the services and care to be furnished, any changes in the services and care, the frequency of visits, and cessation of services
  • To have access to his client record
  • To have client information and records confidentiality maintained by the agency

Each agency must provide each client with a written notice of the client’s rights prior to furnishing care to the client; evidence that the client received this notice must be maintained in the client’s agency record.
