A researcher may obtain confidential data from the Childhood Diabetes Database upon obtaining approval from the Oregon Health Authority’s Public Health Division Institutional Review Board and from the Diabetes Program. Before releasing confidential information to the researcher, the Diabetes Program must contact the family about whom the confidential information pertains and offer them the option to decline contact regarding research opportunities.
