Operations
Establishes standards for the operation of remote site pharmacies—pharmacies staffed by a pharmacy technician, but connected to licensed pharmacists at a central pharmacy via audio and video link. Requires remote site pharmacies to maintain prescription records that distinguish between prescriptions filled at the remote site and those filled at the central pharmacy. Requires a pharmacist at the central pharmacy to approve all prescriptions dispensed at the remote site and to conduct patient counseling by audio and video link. Requires the remote site to maintain controlled substances and controlled substances records in accordance with the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.
