N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. tit. 10 § 35.3 - Confidentiality of Fetal Death Certificates

This regulation requires that the disclosure of information on a fetal death certificate be limited only to the mother, her lawful representative or to authorized personnel of the department.  The regulation further requires that all confidential information for medical and health use not be copied and be detached from the certificate of fetal death.  This detached confidential medical information shall be recorded by the State Commission of Health and stored on appropriate storage media only for scientific and medical research, and after recording this detached information shall be destroyed.  No copies of the certificate should include this confidential medical/health information.
