Mich. Comp. Laws Ann. § 722.627a - Availability of information, reports, and records to legislature; disclosure of or keeping confidential information as misdemeanor

The department must keep all reported central registry child abuse and neglect information confidential. It may, however, be available to the state legislature, so long as it is discussed in a closed session and for purposes of the protection of Michigan children. Any individual who discloses or retains confidential information gained from a meeting held under this Section is guilty of a misdemeanor.
