Requires covered entities to give individuals or their personal representatives access to the individual’s protected health information maintained by the covered entity in accordance with 45 C.F.R. § 164.524. Clarifies that if the covered entity is a health care provider, they must allow access to medical records in accordance with K.S.A. § 65-6836. Requires covered entities to maintain the confidentiality and security of protected health information in accordance with 45 C.F.R. § 164.530(c).
