Permits parents to object to having their newborn infant undergo hearing screening. Requires medical facilities to document such objection in the infant’s medical record. Regulates the responsibility of medical facilities that quality as sending agencies and those that qualify as receiving agencies. Requires a medical facility that receives a medically fragile newborn for care in the NICU to provide hearing screening if the newborn did not receive it prior to their transfer. Requires the primary care provider of an infant born at home to refer the infant for hearing screening
