Establishes standards for nursing facility pharmacy services. Requires verbal orders for drugs to be documented immediately in residents’ clinical records and for the ordering prescriber to counter-sign the order within seven days. Requires nursing facilities to maintain controlled substance records. Requires pharmacists to conduct drug regimen review at least once per month and to document this review in residents’ clinical records. Authorizes the Department of Health and Environment to access a copy of the drug regiment review.
