This law makes all the information collected through the health care quality indicator data program that can identify an individual confidential, and prohibits the release of this data without the specific written consent of the identified individual. The law further makes confidential any communication by an employee/officer/governing board member/agent of a hospital for the purpose of collecting and producing data for the program.
