Idaho Code Ann. § 56-1054, Health Quality Planning

Establishes the Health Quality Planning Commission (“Commission”) within the Department of Health and Welfare (“Department”). Tasks the Commission with monitoring the effectiveness of the Idaho health data exchange and providing recommendations to the Idaho Legislature and Department regarding ways to improve Idaho’s HIT capabilities. Permits the Commission to use information from the health data exchange and other data sources for health and patient safety planning purposes. Permits the Commission to contract with independent entities to perform specified duties (e.g., quality assurance analysis, monitoring of quality and patient safety indicators, etc.).
