Permits insurers to conduct HIV testing of applicants so long as they comply with specified standards and procedures. Such requirements include obtaining an individual’s written informed consent to undergo HIV testing and providing information on HIV/AIDS. Limits disclosure of HIV test results, subject to the individual’s consent, to reinsurers, medical personnel, or insurance affiliates involved in underwriting decisions. Requires insurers to obtain a separate consent in order to disclose the information to other persons.
