“Legislative findings and intent under the civil rights law”
Every person has the fundamental right of self-determination regarding decisions pertaining to his own health, including the right to choose or refuse medical treatment. To ensure that this right is not lost by virtue of later physical or mental incapacity, every individual has the right to execute an advance directive.
