“Grounds for disciplinary action; action by the department under the regulation of professions and occupations law”
Naturopathic physicians may be denied a license or face disciplinary sanctions for a variety of grounds including:
- Failing to report to the Department of Health any health care professional who violates the law;
 - Making a false report or failing to file a report required by state or federal law;
 - Paying or receiving any commission, bonus, kickback, or rebate or engaging in any split-fee arrangement with a health care provider for patient referrals;
 - Engaging in sexual misconduct with a patient;
 - Making deceptive representations in the practice of naturopathic medicine;
 - Failing to keep written medical records for each patient;
 - Being unable to practice naturopathic medicine because of illness or substance use;
 - Gross malpractice; and
 - Performing experimental research without first obtaining written, informed consent from a patient.
