“Breast cancer; information on treatment alternatives under the regulation of professions and occupations law”

Every osteopathic physician must inform each patient diagnosed with breast cancer of the medically viable treatment alternatives to the patient, describe the treatment alternatives, and explain the relative advantages, disadvantages and risks associated with the treatment alternatives to allow the patient to make a prudent decision regarding treatment. The patient’s medical record must reflect the osteopathic physician’s compliance with this statute.
