“Medicaid managed care pilot program under the social welfare law”

(1)(a) The Department of Children and Families is authorized to implement an experimental pilot to create a statewide initiative to provide for a more efficient and effective service delivery system that enhances quality of care and client outcomes in the Florida Medicaid program.

(3)(h)(8) The Department of Children and Families has the power to implement program standards and credentialing requirements for capitated managed care networks to participate in the pilot program. The standards and credentialing requirements must be based upon compliance with the health quality improvement system as established by the department, which incorporates standards developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as part of the quality assurance reform initiative.
