“Prenatal care under the public health law”

The Department of Health must provide a statewide prenatal care program for low-income women, which includes early, regular prenatal care by health care providers. The department must also provide a risk factor analysis to identify women at risk for a preterm birth or other high-risk conditions and provide education regarding maintaining health birth conditions.  The department must monitor the availability and accessibility of prenatal care services and the development of special outreach programs for medically underserved and rural areas.
