“Community intervention programs under the public health law”

The Department of Health is responsible for assisting county health departments in developing and operating community intervention programs through Florida to address chronic diseases. These programs must have the following elements:

  • Health screening;
  • Risk factor detection;
  • Appropriate intervention to enable and encourage changes in behaviors that create health risks; and
  • Health counseling.
