“Medical records of deceased physician; retention, time limitations under the Department of Health regulations”

The executor, representative, or survivor of a deceased physician must retain the physician’s medical records for at least 2 years from the date of the death of the physician. A notice of the physician’s death must be published in a newspaper to notify the physician’s patients that their medical records are available.
