Electronic Health Record Incentive Program

States that the Department of Human Services has decided to participate in the federal EHR incentive program which will be administered in accordance with federal regulations. Identifies the state elections—areas where the federal regulations permit states to choose aspects of the program (e.g., defines “12 month period” to mean fiscal year—, defines “eligible providers,” establishes a procedure for applying and entering a participation agreement, establishes standards for receiving payment, and creates an administrative appeals process). Requires providers to maintain records that support payment eligibility for at least six years.
