Long-term care ombudsperson files are confidential and may only be disclosed upon the written consent of the affected resident, their representative, or pursuant to a court order. This section does not prevent the disclosure of information obtained in an investigation to persons that need the information to resolve a complaint or to other agencies that are “investigating civil, criminal or licensing violation.”
