Annual report – Ohio Rev. Code Ann. § 5162.13

The department of job and family services must submit to both houses of the state legislature, and make available to the public, a report on the effectiveness of the medical assistance program in meeting the health care needs of low-income pregnant women, infants, and children.  The report will include the following information:

  • The estimated number of persons eligible for health care services under the programs;
  • The actual number of eligible persons served;
  • The number of prenatal, postpartum, and child health visits;
  • A report on birth outcomes, including a comparison of low birth-weight births and infant mortality rates of program participants with the general female child-bearing and infant population in Ohio; and
  • A comparison of the prenatal delivery and child health costs of the programs with such costs of similar programs in other states, where available.
