4-3 Vt. Code R. 37:7 - Health insurer retention under the department of financial regulation regulations

“Retention under the department of financial regulation regulations”

Health insurers must maintained records for the following periods:

  • Policy records must be maintained for five years from the expiration date of the policy;
  • Declined applications must be maintained for at least one year;
  • Claims records must be kept for two years;
  • Rate and form filing records must be kept for two years;
  • Financial records must be kept until they have been subject to an examination by the Department of Financial Regulation; and
  • All other records must be maintained for five years.
