VA Releases New Proposed Rule: Consent for Release of VA Medical Records

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) released a proposed rule on January 19, 2018 titled Consent for Release of VA Medical Records. The proposed rule would allow the release of a veteran's medical records to a health information exchange (HIE) community partner if the community partner HIE confirms it has received patient consent.
