The Health System Measurement Project

The Health System Measurement Project is an online tool developed by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  The purpose of the website is to pull together health data from various sources in order to highlight trends within the United States' health care system.  The website covers ten main topic areas, ranging from access to care to vulnerable populations.  The website allows users to compare national metrics with state or regional metrics and to see time trends in health care.  Notably, this resource allows users to compare health care data across race, age, income, geography, or insurance coverage.
