The Texas program is known as Texas Medicaid or STAR.  It is administered by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Their website can be accessed here.  As of June 1, 2018, there were 4,335,872 individuals enrolled in the Texas Medicaid program.1

The Texas Health Services Authority (THSA) is working under contract with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to coordinate the implementation of health information exchange (HIE) strategic and operational plans for the State of Texas.  Texas has a number of regional HIEs that are currently in different stages of development and operation, including ARK-LA-TEX HIE.;  Critical Connection Central Texas Cooperative Inc.; El Paso HIE; Greater Houston HIE; Health Information network of South Texas; Healthcare Access San Antonio (HASA); iHealthTrust; Integrated Care Collaboration (ICC); Montgomery County HIE; Project Access Dallas HIE; Rio Grande Valley HIE; South East Texas HIE; Texas Mid-West HIE;
