Health Insurance Exchanges in Maine

Health Insurance Exchanges

Maine has passed preliminary legislation giving the Insurance Superintendant authority over the health insurance exchanges required by the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  The law allows the Superintendant to coordinate activities and enter into agreements with the exchanges.1  It seems that further legislation is forthcoming on the state’s health benefit exchange program.
