Use and disclosure of protected health information
Permits health care providers and health insurance carriers to use and disclose information from the North Dakota Health Information Network in accordance with the federal HIPAA regulations, for treatment, payment, and health care operations, in accordance with their participation agreement, and as otherwise required by law. Requires an individual’s consent in order to sell or make commercial use of information, disclose information for comparative studies, or for uses or disclosures that are otherwise prohibited by law.
