School districts and joint school boards must maintain comprehensive medical and dental records for each child, containing all the information the school obtains concerning the child’s health.

School nurses must maintain comprehensive health records for each child and records of school nursing services.

Health records must be kept at the school building and must be available to the school nurse at all times; records must be transferred with the child when he moves from one school to another.

Public, private, parochial and nonpublic schools must annually report immunization data to the department of health, including the number of children attending the school who have received immunizations as required by the department.
