“Disclosure, confidentiality under the public health law”

Any protected health information provided by the Department of Health and Human Services regarding communicable diseases are confidential and may only be disclosed with the informed, written consent of the individual who is the subject of the protected health information.  The health information may be disclosed to investigate the causes of disease transmission in a particular case or control the spread of the disease among the public.
