“Hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers required to report adverse events under the hospitals and sanitaria law”
Any hospital or ambulatory surgical center must report the occurrence of any of the adverse health care events no later than 15 business days after discovery of the event. Adverse events relating to surgery, products or devices, patient protection, care management, environment, and crime must be reported. Following the occurrence of an adverse health care event, the facility must conduct a root cause analysis of the event and implement a corrective action plan.
